speech project

It is amazing how much we have learned in only four months. When I practiced my speech in front of my friends who don’t know anything about Japanese, they told me I am pretty fluent in Japanese. That really made me feel proud of myself although I memorized word by word just for the speech. For the first two months I took this course, I always complained about how much work I had to do everyday, however, looking back, I realized all the time I spent doing homework, practicing in the language lab, and studying for vocab and grammars is really worthy and valuable. I really had a lot of fun learning Japanese this semester and cannot wait to continue learning Japanese next semester.

I think the speech was really helpful in the way organizing my thoughts in Japanese. It was also a good chance to see how much everyone learned because we all tried to use many words and grammars we learned so far. In addition, peer revising was really helpful for me to learn what kinds of mistakes I make the most. My group members not only corrected my grammar mistakes but also told me how I can improve my speech. That really helped me a lot. Also, as I read other people’s speech, I learned some sentence structures I hadn’t used at all. I liked our speech project a lot.

私はこどもの時にやさしい人でしたが、いい学生じゃあありませんでした。学こうにたくさんともだちがいましたが、たくさんルールもありましたから、私は学こうがすきでもきらいでもありませんでした。 クラスでともだちとはなしてはいけませんでした。それから、学こうにおそく行ってはいけませんでしたから、私はまい日はやくおきて、学こうに行きました。クラスはたいていつまらなかったです。それから、私の先生はとてもこわかったですから、私はまい日しゅくだいをしました。でも、よくしゅくたいときょかしょをうちにわすれましたから、おかあさんは学こうに私のしゅくだいをもってきました。私は学こうのあとたいてい二時かんぐらいべんきょうしました。私のおばあさんは先生でしたから、おばあさんは私にかんこくごとすうがくをおしえて、しゅうくだいをてつだいました。もいじゅう金曜日にはたくさんともだちが私のうちにきて、いしょうにテレビゲームをあそびました。私のうちは学こうのそばにありましたから、うちまでのみちはやさしかったです。 だから、ともだちがよく私のうちにきました。ともだちをうちにつれてきて、ねてもよがったですから、私のすきなともだちは時々私のうちでねました。わたしのこどもの時はどてもたのしかったです。

私のこどもの時。。。

私はこどもの時にとてもしずかでした。もだしがたくさんありましたか、わたしはあまりともだしとはなしませんでした。私はおもしろい人じゃありませんでした。私は私のうちのそばのこうえんがだいすきでした。だから、ひまな時にたいていこうえんでおんがくをききました。それから、そこでチョコァットとアイスクリームを食べました。
わたしのたんじょうびにたのしいパーチィーがうちでありました。ともだしがたくさんうちにきました。よんじゅう人ぐらいきました。私のすきな食べものと飲みものがたくさんありました。だからたんじょびは私のすきな日でした。
私はこどもの時にはやいおきました。まい日七時ごろドレゴンボールを見ました。そのカートーンはとてもたのしいでした。それから、八時半ごろがくへ行きました。まい日ばんは三じかんぐらいしゅくだいをしました。私はこどもの時にいいがくせいでした。

日本ごのクラスは。。。。

だい五かはむずかしいです。おたらしいたんごがたくさんあります。それから、そのだんごはやさしくあります。私はしずかな人です。だから、私はクラスでたくさんはなしません。
九月に私わ日本ごのクラスかすきじゃありませんでした。しゅくだいがたくさんありますでしたから。
でも、今私は日本ごのクラスがたいすきですよ。クタスはおもしろいですから。せんせいもやぅいです。せんせいは時々こわいです。クタスマイトもやすいとおもしろいです。

わたしのしゅうまつ
このしゅうまつはいいしゅうまつです。わたしのお母さんはせんしゅうバージニアだいかくへかんこくからきました。ろれから、わたしはおかあさんと土曜日にかいものをしました。ノルドンバージニアのタイソンスへいきました。わたしはそこでくつをたくさんかいました。でもおかあさんはかいませんでした。おかあさんのサイズーのくつかありませんでした。四時かんぐらいかいものをしました。それから、タイソンスのまえにかんこくのレストランでばんごはんをたくさんたべました。十時ごろわたしのへやにかえりました。おかあさんとたくさん話しました。それから、十二時ごろねました.　日曜日におそくおきました。ダカラ、あさごはんをたべませんでした。でも、おかあさんと十二時にひるごはんをたべました。ホテルのそばにレストランでていしょくをたくさんたべました。それから、わたしはとしょかんで二時かんべんきょうしました。おかあさんはホテスでコンピューターをしました。おかあさんとスージンさんとコーナーでばんごはんをたべました。スージンさんはわたしのすきなともだちです。それから、八時にわたしのへやへかえりました。いいしゅうまつでしま。

Even though I posted a blog last Friday, I totally forgot to write about what makes a good blog.
I makes this kind of mistake all the time. While I am doing something, I usually forget to do other things I have to do.
anyway.. what makes a good blog?
First of all, I think I myself need to enjoy posting a blog every week.
It is not a big assignment which will be graded. The purpose of this blog is writing about my daily life, communicating with people, and encouraging other people.
Even few weeks ago, I was bothered to write a blog, but now I am enjoying posting my blog and also reading other people's blogs.
Also, we all need to honest writing blogs. If nothing special happened that week, we can just write about other things such as movies...music..holiday... anything.
One other thing I thought important is commenting on others' blogs, so that people can know that someone's reading their blogs.

I feel like time really goes too fast this semester. I cannot believe it already has been two weeks since I went to west virginia with all second year korean students. (for fall break) These are some pics we took there. We rented a cabin which was about 3 hours away from the school. As you can see in the picture, we went there with 6 cars lining up. haha Although we didn't do anything special there, it was really fun to spend time together for 3 days. We cooked, ate(a looooooooooot) , and played games together...etc...

Anyway.... my mom came to America yesterday. She is now in NewYork with my brother and she is coming to see me this Sunday. Yeah~~ she is going to stay here for a week. I cannot wait to see her~

Japanese class?? it's getting harder and harder... but it's really exiting that now I know future and past tense. I just talked to one of my Japanese friends that what I did today. (of course in Japanese=)

I finally got to drive my car!! HAHAHA I bought a white Mustang at the end of last year but couldn't drive until last Wednesday. BECAUSE!! I thought my international driver permit was expired. actually, I still need to go to DMV for some reasons...
anyway...
for me, it is still kinda scary to drive on my own, but i am enjoying driving a loooooooooooot.
tell me if you need a ride.
remember it's little bit risky to get on my car. lol

FINALLY, MY HELL WEEK IS OVER!!
One other good thing is that I think I did ok on my midterms. haha
Now, I really need to catch up だいさんかの　ぶんぽう　and かんじ。
I am glad that we are finally learning some verbs, but it seems pretty hard to me. Japanese is getting harder and harder.........
I just tried to read sato sensee's blog and found out there were a loooooooooooot of kanjis... so... i couldn't really understand any of that.......
Anyway.... while I looked at other people's blogs, I realized that mine is the only one that doesn't have any picture or video.
Therefore, I decided to post some pictures that I took in summer. I remember I once saw a sticker photo machine in America few years ago. I guess it's not popular in America but korean teenagers take a lot of sticker photos. Most of the machines are from Japan. Do you see the hiragana and katakana in the photos? I used those hiragana and katakana stamps to make my photos look pretty. haha.
I heard there are a lot more diverse sticker photo machines in Japan. I saw some photos taken from the top... some machines have fans inside so that your hair look natural. interesting?
One more thing.... the person next to me is my younger brother. I know we don't look alike. I miss him so much.....

Iwoke up at 4 to finish my homework and study for my exam today =(
I was sick last night, so I went to bed early without finishing any work...
I am soooooo glad that it's finally friday!! Actually...I have 2 midterms, Japanese chapter test, presentation next week. It's going to be a busy week, but at least I can take nap after japanese class today!!yeah~

Hi. I've never had a blog before, so it's very interesting for me to create my own blog. For those of you who don's know me, my name is Miyoung.

This is what I've learned in class so far.

I was in e-school last year, so I didn't really have chance to take language courses because I was already overwhelmed by all the engineering classes I took. I decided to trasfer to college in summer and now I am taking college courses.
There are several reasons why I decided to take Japanese101 this semester. Since I was little, I was interested in Japanese culture and Japanese characters. I also loved to listen Japanese songs. Since I came to America 3 years ago, I've had many chances to make Japanese friends.
I wished to talk to them in Japanese. Now I am already using what we learned in class in my daily life although I've only learned little. It is really interesting to see my Japanese friends supriesed whenever I talk something in Japanese. I wish I can speak Japanese fluently someday.
So far.. I am having so much fun in my JAPN101 class even though I massed up my quizzes. =(
This class is little bit demanding.. I think... but I know it will be worth it.
